Following the news, a few fans have begun campaigning to demand the OG version of Suicide Squad. The 2016 release was helmed by David Ayer and it featured Jared Leto as the Joker. While the movie wasn't a critical success, fans are now demanding the Suicide Squad Ayer Cut is released for it was reported that the theatrical release was different from the originally planned version.

The 2019 film “Just Mercy,” which chronicles courtroom struggles against racial injustice and mass incarceration, will be made free on digital platforms throughout June in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Warner Bros. said Tuesday.

A new tweet from David Ayer, the director of the film, Suicide Squad, revealed that the studios actually had him change the movie because it was “too dark.” Currently, the “Snyder Cut” of Justice League is coming out in the following year, and now, fans are asking for the director’s cut of other successful films as well, including Suicide Squad. Movie Web reported today that David Ayer’s Suicide Squad was another example of a film that was cut dramatically to meet the demands of the studio.
