A walker has criticised Stirling University after finding an area of the campus “looking like a tip”.Cornton resident Crispin Bennett had been walking in the area at the end of March when he made the discovery. It is understood that the area, between Spittal Hill and the Stirling Court Hotel, was being used by contractors while work was being carried out on the broader university campus.Mr Bennett said this week: “It’s in a terrible condition.
It looks like a tip. The university should be ashamed of themselves.“The area concerned must be about the size of quite a few football pitches.“You can see rubbish all over the place.
There is even part of an old bicycle shelter there.“There are also signs left lying on the ground.“I’m not sure what has been going on, but it looks to me like contractors have not cleared up after themselves.“It’s a very poor situation for a university that is a world leader in environmental management.”A University of Stirling spokesperson said: “The site near Spittal Hill and Stirling Court Hotel is being used by a contractor to support the university’s capital development programme.“The contractor has assured us the area is scheduled to be tidied this week.
