Spain and Italy issue major Covid restriction update as Easter holidays kick off

Spain and Italy have both confirmed they will extend Covid travel restrictions for at least another month. Dozens of countries have dropped their travel measures, allowing UK holidaymakers to jet abroad for the Easter holidays.

Denmark, Poland, Iceland, Norway are among countries to have scrapped travel rules in a bit to attract tourists. Spain extended its travel restrictions until April 30, with unvaccinated and partly vaccinated UK travellers unable to visit unless for an 'essential reason'.Italy has also extended travel restrictions until at least April 30, with rules set to be reviewed before the end of the month.For Spain, unvaccinated teenagers aged 12 to 17 are still allowed to visit Spain with a negative PCR result when accompanying a vaccinated adult.Meanwhile, those who have recovered from Covid within the last six months can show proof with a letter.People have had both their jabs within the past 270 days can enter Spain with proof of vaccination.

All travellers must fill in a passenger locator form to enter Spain.Italy is keeping its 'vaccinated, recovered, tested' rule for entry, meaning travellers must show proof of one to enter and fill out a passenger locator form.
