Autism is a lifelong spectrum condition, meaning your brain works in a different way to other people. The condition, which affects communication, social skills and communication, is under the spotlight due to the recent diagnosis of Christine McGuinness at the age of 33.

The model, who is married to Paddy McGuinness, is known for campaigning for autism awareness after the couple's three children were all diagnosed.

Roughly 1% of the UK population, or an estimated 700,000 people, are diagnosed as autistic. Although autism is predominantly diagnosed in childhood when the first signs are usually seen, however some people are not diagnosed until well into adulthood.
