He was 84. Kramer was one of the earliest activists in the fight against AIDS, who co-founded the Gay Men's Health Crisis in 1982.
With a ground-breaking 1983 essay "1,112 and Counting," Kramer created ripples not only in the stigmatized society but also forced the government to respond to the prevailing situation.
