As he sat on the toilet, a 6ft tall glass shower screen exploded just a metre away from him.Bex, a 34-year-old civil servant, instinctively shielded Caelen by putting her arms around him as glass hurtled around them.Both mum and son were driven to tears by the frightening experience, which left their clothes covered in glass.Thankfully, they escaped unscathed but shaken up.Bex described the incident as sounding "like a bomb had gone off" and said it could have turned "really serious" if they had been in the shower at the time.
