Scots mum amazed at stranger's kindness after she loaded shopping into wrong car at Aldi

A Scots mum who loaded her shopping and handbag into the wrong car at Aldi before driving home was left speechless when a kind stranger made sure everything was returned to her.

Sarah Cowan stopped in at the supermarket after a long work shift, spending £75 on a week's worth groceries. The 48-year-old packed the food into her silver Nissan Qashqai before returning her trolley and driving home - but was left baffled when she opened her boot to find it empty.

It quickly dawned on the mum-of-one that she had put her shopping and handbag, worth £250, into the wrong boot - after parking next to a vehicle that was the exact same model as her own.Fearing her shopping and beloved handbag were gone forever, hotel worker Sarah couldn't believe her luck when Aldi confirmed her belongings had been handed in.Now reunited and still bemused by her mistake, grateful Sarah's only wish is to thank the honest driver who returned her shopping.Sarah, who lives in Hightae, near Lockerbie, Dumfries, said: "It was such a lovely surprise, I couldn't believe that someone had handed them in."It just goes to show that there are some good people still out there."With the state of how the whole world is at the moment, it's been so lovely to see such a kind gesture."I'm so grateful to get not only the shopping back, but my handbag too - it was the last present from my late grandfather so had great sentimental value too."Sarah had already been unhappy about having to do the shopping after her husband Darren, 48, suggested she buy the groceries on the way home from work.She said: "I was absolutely exhausted and just wanted to go home."I did the food shop as quick as I could and thought I'd milk it so told Darren he had to run me a nice, hot bath to
