cops have been urged to back the rollout of an overdose prevention drug after two lives were saved in Wales.Arfon Jones, the police commissioner for North Wales, has slammed the Scottish Police Federation for opposing plans to issue all officers with Naloxone.Jones has hailed the use of the opiate reversal drug after two officers used nasal spray to revive two overdose victims in Flintshire.He claims the SPF – which argues that Naloxone provision is a stealthy way of lumping extra jobs on officers – is turning its back on the first principle of UK policing – saving lives.The SPF has told any officers who want to take the treatment just in case that they will not be represented if any complaints arise from the way the drug is.
