ScotRail has published a temporary Sunday timetable starting June 5 as its bitter pay dispute continues. The new schedule on Sundays will come into force amid the busy Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Scots enjoying a long - and toasty - bank holiday weekend in honour of the Queen's 70-year reign may be inconvenienced by the cut to services.
Passengers are urged to check their journeys on the operator's website as train times may have changed. "We're introducing a temporary timetable for Sundays too, so we can provide greater certainty & reliability for our customers," ScotRail tweeted on Thursday."It will be available to view on our website & app from Saturday morning."More late night services on Friday and Saturday were added last weekend, but ScotRail did not enact an emergency Sunday timetable - leading to about 320 cancellations as customers' frustrations mounted.
It follows an overhaul that began with a new temporary weekday timetable on May 23. The cuts included more than 700 services, with some routes terminating as much as four hours earlier than usual.ScotRail and its workers are locked into a pay dispute that has yet to be settled.
