ScotRail train driver has been hailed a ‘legend’ by amused passengers after making a hilarious Covid-19 tannoy announcement.

Travellers were left in stitches on-board the Airdrie to Partick service when they were reminded to wear a face mask on Wednesday afternoon.

Passenger Chris Murray praised the employee on Twitter and asked the rail giant to send his thanks to the driver after being tickled by the tongue-in-cheek remark.

The 30-year-old wrote: “Just heard a legit ScotRail announcement: ‘We’d like to remind you, you canny shove yer granny aff as bus, but you can prevent her getting coronavirus by wearing a facemask for the duration of your journey.’” Dozens of social media users shared their praise for the driver for his brilliant.
