People living in a Salford tower block have been landed with bills totalling £3.27m to replace cladding similar to the type on Grenfell Tower.

Leaseholders at The Edge - a luxury apartment block on the banks of the Irwell - have been sent individual bills for varying amounts from around £7,500 up to £22,000.

They have been told they must pay up by the end of July so work to replace flammable cladding can at least begin within the current insurance year.

It is understood legal action would be taken as a last resort in the event of non-payment and those struggling to pay have been asked to contact managing agent Scanlans to discuss.
