Ryan Reynolds Launches The Group Effort Initiative To Bring More Diversity To Film

Ryan Reynolds is launching a diversity program. As part of the actor’s The Group Effort Initiative, which is under his production company Maximum Effort, Reynolds will bring in 10 to 20 trainees who are Black, Indigenous and other people of colour for a chance to work and learn on the actor’s upcoming projects.

The new members of the crew will be paid and housed out of Reynolds’ own salary. They will spend their days on set, watching and learning about all the ins-and-outs of movie-making, hopefully creating a path for a career in the entertainment industry.

‘MacGruber’ Series Ordered at Peacock, Will Forte Reprising Main Role
Will Thorne Staff WriterMacGruber is officially back in action.Peacock has issued an eight-episode order for a “MacGruber” series which will see Will Forte reprise the role he created while on “Saturday Night Live.” News of the pick up was announced at the NBCUniversal streamer’s TCA press day, and comes around eight months after the show was first put in development.The half-hour series is an adaptation of the 2010 feature film of the same name, and will also be directed by the film’s helmer Jorma Taccone, of Lonely Island fame. Peacock’s take on “MacGruber” will begin with the main character, described as America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot, being released from prison after rotting in there for over a decade.
