Rutherglen school have raised over £1000 for a cancer charity close to their hearts. Stonelaw High raised £1617.51 on behalf of Jack Flexney following his cancer diagnosis, with the money primarily raised through a non-uniform day.All of the funds will be donated to the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, where Jack has received his cancer treatment.In August last year, Jack, who was 17 at the time, attended the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for an MRI scan after experiencing bouts of nausea and sickness.Just a few hours later, the teenager was undergoing brain surgery after two cancerous tumours were discovered. “We were laughing and joking before the scan,” dad Paul told the Reformer last year. “Jack was being sick about once every day,.
