The chain of restaurants that were once McDonald's in Russia has registered a new logo after the fast food brand left the country because of the war.McDonald's is one of the major companies that has stopped trading in Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.The fast food chain unveiled its new modern logo ahead of restaurants opening this weekend.The new logo features a circle and two lines against a green background in what is said to depict a burger and fries.Sistema PBO is the company now operating the restaurants that used to be McDonald's in Russia.Names under consideration for the restaurants include "Tot Samyi", which means "the same one" and "Svobodnaya Kassa" which means "available cash register", reports the BBC."The green background of the logo symbolises the quality of products and service that our guests are accustomed to," a Sistema PBO spokesperson told TASS, the Russian state news agency.McDonald's has retained its trademark in Russia, meaning its brand, name and logo cannot be used by another company.It has 15 years to restart its business in the country if it wants to.
