RTÉ announce it will be airing Sally Rooney’s TV adaption of Normal People

Irish fans of Sally Rooney’s popular book Normal People will be delighted to hear that RTÉ will be airing the Element Pictures adaption of the novel.

The show, which was made initially for the BBC is a 12-part series, stars newcomer Paul Mescal as popular Connell and British actress Daisy Edgar Jones as the leading lady Marianne.

The series is based very closely on the book and will follow the two youngsters as they find their way through social norms and complicated relationships.

The story makes its way from Connell and Marianne’s school days in Sligo, where Marianne was an outsider, all the way to Trinity College, where Connell finds himself not being able to fit in.
