It's been a couple of weeks since Normal People rocked our worlds and left us bereft as characters Connell and Marianne navigated their heartbreaking romance.

For the millions of viewers who binge watched the series on BBC iPlayer when it was released in full, or those that are pacing themselves watching weekly episodes, a big question is currently on everyone's lips – will there be a second series?

To avoid risking any spoilers we'll just say that the ending of the 12-part series, which is adapted from Sally Rooney's acclaimed novel, is left pretty open-ended, and now the stars of the show Daisy Edgar Jones and Paul Mescal have addressed rumours of whether they will return as the much-loved couple.
