Rangers fans will be able to try out the new-look Copland Road end when they host Dundee next week after Ibrox chiefs revised plans to play the Premier Sports Cup clash in front of three stands.Gers announced last week that they’d be returning to their Govan home for the quarter-final showdown with Tony Docherty’s team on September 21.

But season-ticket holders were warned only the Sandy Jardine, Broomloan and Main Stands would be open, with finishing touches still to be put on the stadium’s new multi-million-pound disabled section. However, with work progressing at a pace, the Light Blues have now announced they will be welcoming season-ticket holders back in to the Copland Front section for next Saturday’s 5.30pm kick-off.

The club said in a statement: “Following good progress in completion works, Rangers can today confirm the Copland Front will be open for the Dundee match in the Premier Sports Cup on 21 September.“Season-ticket holders from this area will now be able to purchase their own seat, while supporters in the Copland Rear, which will remain closed for this match as final concourse works continue, can select an alternative seat elsewhere in the stadium.”Rangers were forced to play their first four home games of the season at Hampden after the cantilever project was held up by a delayed steel shipment.
