There have been many eventful shareholders meetings at Rangers over the years but perhaps one in particular should put the club's current situation into perspective.
Who could forget THAT gazebo on the pitch at Ibrox Stadium? That was eight years ago when the Light Blues were going through a torrid time on and off the park. Then chairman David Somers was heckled throughout with fans accusing him of treating them with contempt over some of his comments.
So, as supporters get set for what is predicted to be a fiery AGM it is probably worth noting. Dave King, the largest single shareholder, has already said he will vote against the re-election of Douglas Park but is unlikely to gain enough support to oust the chairman.
Rangers enjoyed record turnover of £86.8 million and that has shown how far they have come off the park since those dark days of 2014.Fans have every right to be happy with that – their issue is that not enough cash is being spent and the money that is being shelled out isn't being used wisely enough, certainly not in terms of transfers.
