The Queen had to intervene between Prince Andrew and Prince Charles as adults after the pair became embroiled in an argument over a toilet, according to reports.

The ‘bizarre’ incident happened over Christmas during 1999 when Prince Andrew was 39-years-old. A former maid of the royals has revealed the alleged incident involved Prince Andrew refusing to remove his toiletries from a bathroom in Sandringham, which had been allocated to his older brother.

Former Buckingham Palace staff member Janette McGowan - who had travelled with the Firm to the residence in Norfolk - revealed Andrew’s childish tantrum was only resolved when The Queen stepped in to have a word with him.

Jannette said shocked staff were alerted to the situation after the Duke put his things into the wrong bathroom and then wouldn’t budge when he was asked to move them.
