A fundraising campaign has been launched in memory of Printworks boss Fred Booth. Fred, nicknamed the 'Godfather of Manchester', died in January at the age of 58.
Now colleagues at the Withy Grove entertainment complex, which he launched in 2000, have teamed up with his family to raise money for the hospitals where he received 'exceptional care'.
Together they are aiming to raise £30,000 towards buying new dialysis machines for the Royal Oldham Hospital Intensive Care Unit, and the Dr Horacio E.
Oduber Hospital in Aruba. Fred spent several months in hospital before his death where he received dialysis, a procedure in which blood is filtered of waste products and excess fluid when a patient's kidneys cannot perform the job.
