A house on Bradfield Road in Stretford was set alight and the blaze spread to the roof of a neighbouring property. Children were in the house next door at the time, police said.

Fire crews were called to the scene at around 6pm on Saturday, May 1, though it's believed the fire was started around an hour earlier.

No injuries were reported, but 'extensive damage' was caused to both properties, police said. Officers are treating the incident as arson and an investigation is underway.
