Police praise member of public for tip-off about alleged drink-driver

Greater Manchester Police tweeted at 11.12pm yesterday (Friday) that the motorist had been stopped on the M61. The post said: "Thanks to the member of the public who alerted the Police about this Drink Driver!

Stopped the vehicle on M61, the driver provided a positive road side sample of breath and was arrested. In custody evidential sample of 51 provided!" Approximately 85,000 people are convicted of drink driving related offences every year in England and Wales.
