Police helicopters and road cops combined to chase an alleged car thief through a Scots town this afternoon. Officers responded to reports of a vehicle being stolen and gave chase to the man in Alloa.Road police officers were involved in the incident as a suspect ran off and hid.The police helicopter arrived along with specially trained dogs and a man was soon found hiding out nearby.Images show the car lying abandoned in the streets, with at least three police cars at the scene.The vehicle had minor damage and the 28-year-old suffered no injuries - but he was detained to appear in court on Friday morning.Forth Valley posted information about the chase on Twitter.They confirmed the man faced a number of charges including theft of a motor vehicle, uninsured driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop for the police.A tweet said: “ForthValley Road Police pursued this stolen vehicle through Alloa earlier.“It had been stolen with keys after a sneak in theft.“The driver, a 28 year old male, took to his feet and went to ground.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
