Malachy Joyce, 36, was the sole director, principal shareholder and ‘directing mind’ of Didsbury Plumbing and Heating LTD. He commenced building work on a three-bedroom semi detached house in Crumpsall over a period of two months including replastering, boiler replacement and outside guttering, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Joyce, of Didsbury, charged the woman the ‘extortionate’ price of £75,000, though she paid just £37,000 in cash which surveyors agreed was the appropriate amount.
