Playparks across Lanarkshire to benefit from £3.5m cash injection

Residents of South Lanarkshire are being encouraged to take part in a council-run play area consultation following a £3.5m investment.Over the next few years, the mammoth cash injection is set to be invested across Lanarkshire in improving play areas for children thanks to a Scottish Government initiative.Almost £300,000 of the £3.5m will be invested in the first year and South Lanarkshire Council want to know how they should prioritise spending the money.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley is backing the council consultation and encouraging local residents to have their say.

She told Lanarkshire Live : "I would encourage everyone to comment on the council’s consultation and ensure the play areas they value can benefit from this funding. "Play is an important part of childhood and these areas ensure every child has access to a safe outdoor space."It is important that residents put forward their views so that the council can make the biggest difference in our communities."
