PIP, Universal Credit and 10 other benefits paid early this week due to Spring and Platinum Jubilee bank holidays

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) recently confirmed in its Touchbase newsletter changes to some benefits and State Pension payment dates due to the upcoming bank holidays this week.

Thursday, June 2nd is a UK-wide Spring bank holiday and Friday, June 3rd has been declared a national holiday to allow everyone across the country to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

As a result, the DWP has announced that its offices and phone lines will be closed during that time which means anyone due to be paid certain benefits on those dates, will receive their money on Wednesday, June 1st.

The DWP said: “On Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June offices and phone lines are closed.“To make sure people receive their payments on a day when our offices are open, arrangements have been made to make some payments early.“If the expected payment date is Thursday 2 or Friday 3 June benefits will be paid early on Wednesday 1 June.”Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credits, administered by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), which are due to be paid on those dates will also be paid on Wednesday, June 1.Universal CreditState PensionPension CreditDisability Living AllowancePersonal Independence PaymentChild Tax CreditWorking Tax CreditAttendance AllowanceCarer’s AllowanceEmployment Support AllowanceIncome SupportJobseeker’s AllowanceIf the expected payment date is not shown in the list above, the DWP said people will receive their money on their usual payment date.
