There are fears that momentum is building behind a trading agreement which could see cheaper imports of meat from Down Under hammering Perthshire farmers.National Farmers’ Union (NFU) Scotland president Martin Kennedy, Perthshire born and bred, appeared live on Wednesday’s BBC Newsnight, contributing to the flagship news programme’s primary item for discussion.
Mr Kennedy spoke via online link-up from his farm in Strathtay, telling host Emily Maitlis how concerned his union was for the farming way of life in Scotland.
