Patients in Greater Manchester calling ambulances for emergencies including 'heart attacks and strokes' are routinely waiting over an hour for paramedics to arrive.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), which like every tier of the NHS is under huge pressure, should be responding to these 'category 2' calls, which also includes burns and sepsis, within 18 minutes.
