Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A fraudster posing as an HMRC worker threatened a Paisley man with jail time if he didn’t transfer him £8,000.The devious conman told the 32-year-old that a High Court judge would cage him for five years if he didn’t send the cash.Police revealed the worried victim sent the money to a Revolut account before realising he had fallen foul of a scam.Cops are probing the incident, which happened on Thursday afternoon.They also issued a fresh scam warning to other potential victims.Inspector Allan O’Hare, from Renfrewshire’s community policing team said: “Our enquiries into this fraud are ongoing.“I would like to warn members of the public about these types.
