Local residents of Formby Beach have been left outraged after visitors discarded beer bottles, BBQs, and bags of litter this sunny weekend.

Plastic Free Formby community group have described the scene of their beauty spot as resembling the 'morning after at Glastonbury'.

On Sunday, the group posted photographs to social media, along with many others, sharing their disgust and upset at some people's lack of respect for the area.

Coolers have been abandoned, plastic bags and bottles, laughing gas canisters, along with food cartons. One resident shared: "The beach of my home town, Formby is inundated with visitors who have no respect and little regard for the beauty of the area.
