Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Northern Soul group set to perform in Paisley for charity

Ten-piece soulsters Stefan Taylor and The Signatures are performing at Paisley’s Rocknrolla’s venue in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.All profits from the gig, being staged in Wellmeadow Street, will be donated to the charity.The band has been performing together for around six years and has raised a lot of money for good causes through events including March of the Mods, which sees British and Irish Mods working together to bring in money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.Stefan said he loves Northern Soul music and doing something that he “loves” for a good cause is a great experience.

He explained: “I have been playing with The Signatures for around roughly six years and we have done many March of the Mods gigs where they have raised a lot of money for a good cause. Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.

Sign up to our newsletters here."When you are performing at these events and you are on stage and see the buckets going round, people wearing the T-shirts and getting involved, there is something extra special about that as you are doing what you love and it is helping a good cause.”Stefan, 28, has shared the stage with some incredible singers such as Tommy Hunt, singer for The Flamingos, who he says was a great inspiration to him as he taught him how to take care of his voice and perform to a crowd.

He says Tommy was always gracious with his time and he is thankful to have spent time backstage with him.Every day, seven young people aged between 13 and 24 hear the words “you have cancer”.
