NORMAL People fans may have a long wait on their hands to find out what happens next - with its star and director saying new episodes may not hit screens until 2025.

The sex-focused BBC series ended with Marianne, played by Daisy Edgar-Jones, set to stay in Dublin while Paul Mescal's Connell was poised to accept a place on a writing course in New York.

Now, 22-year-old Daisy has said she is keen to take part in a second series - but warned it could be when the characters are in their 30s or even later.

She said: "The open ending is kind of perfect. That's what life is like, you never know what's around the corner. 'I quite like that I don't know where they are and that we don't have to say goodbye to them.
