More than half of Spain's provinces have been issued a weather warning for "intense heat" as temperatures are expected to rise above 42C.
Cáceres and Badajoz, the provinces which form Extremadura, alongside Salamanca, Ávila, Toledo, Seville, Córdoba, Jaén and Ourense have issued an orange warning for the rising temperatures.
In Extremadura, temperatures didn't dip below 39C on Monday. Meanwhile, Salamanca, Ávila, Ourense and Galicia are expected to see temperatures reach 40C, according to forecasters.
A yellow warning has also been put in place for Andalusia, Madrid, the Basque Country, Aragon, Catilla y Leon, Catalonia, Navarre and La Rioja, the Express reports.
