Ajax are close to appointing Alfred Schreuder as Erik ten Hag's successor at the Johan Cruyff Arena, according to reports. It is widely reported that the Club Brugge boss is on the cusp of officially being announced as the Dutch giants' new chief as Ten Hag leaves the club to take charge at Manchester United.
The Dutchman was announced as United's new boss last month and will officially start work at Old Trafford ahead of next season.
Ten Hag guided Ajax to their third Eredivisie title of his premiership on Wednesday evening, overseeing a 4-0 win over SC Heerenveen.
It means that they have wrapped up the title with a game to spare, finding themselves four points clear of second-placed PSV Eindhoven. READ MORE: Manchester United weighing up Frenkie de Jong transfer In a bid to retain their league crown next season, Ajax have turned to fellow Dutchman Schreuder.
