Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorKanye West made a surprise appearance some three hours into the BET Awards on Sunday night to pay tribute to Sean “Diddy” Combs, the show’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award.Wearing a grey leather Hood by Air jacket, a matching baseball cap, a full black-stocking facial mask and shades, he gave a speech in Sean Combs’ honor, who has also called himself Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, just Diddy and most recently, simply Love. As West attests below, he is no stranger to changing names: Last year he legally changed his name to “Ye.” Below, he speaks movingly of Combs’ influence on him, stressing that he considers him an artist — and it is easy the influence of Combs viewing his entire creative and business output as part of a whole.

The BET Awards gave Sean «Diddy» Combs his flowers on Sunday night. None other than Kanye «Ye» West took the stage to help present Diddy with the award alongside Babyface. Tom Parker’s widow Kelsey hosted her daughter Aurelia’s first birthday without her dad, after The Wanted star died earlier this year, following a battle with a stage four glioblastoma brain tumour. Tom died at the age of 33 in March after he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, in October 2020, and was given just 12 months to live by doctors. The star and her husband, David Stanley, welcomed their baby girl on Friday.Ushkowitz took to her Instagram and shared a photo of her on a hospital bed while wearing her gown and a necklace that simply reads, «Mama.» You can't see a full view of the baby but there's a glimpse of her tiny hand. Ushkowitz's face is also partially covered.In her caption, the 36-year-old actress kept things simple with, «Our hearts have burst wide open ❤️.» Some of her famous friends dropped congratulatory sentiments in the comments section.
