Motherwell have paid tribute to former 'Ancell Babes' icon Willie Hunter, who passed away aged 80. He became a firm favourite on Lanarkshire turning out over 200 times in the claret and amber under boss Bobby Ancell in the mid 1950s and early 1960s.As part of a new youth recruitment policy implemented by the gaffer, Hunter would join from Edinburgh Norton and secure his place in Fir Park folklore.His standout showings for the Steelmen would earn him three Scotland caps.After bringing the curtain down on his playing career, Willie would become and author writing a book about a trek his wife had taken.
