Plans to build the new units on the 'overgrown' land, located to the east of Irlam Wharf Road, have been approved by Salford council's planning panel.

They will be used for industrial, storage and distribution purposes with office space also part of the plans by Commercial Development Projects Limited.

But 113 trees must be removed from the site to facilitate the development. The 'vast majority' of these trees are self-seeded and considered to be of low quality, according to a council report, and replacement
