Mike Fenton, casting director on well over 100 films and TV shows including classics such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Godfather: Part 2, The Goonies, E.T., Blade Runner, Back to the Future and Chaplin has died.
He was 85. Fenton also co-founded what became the Casting Society of America in 1982.Steven Spielberg, who worked on many projects with Fenton as both director and producer, was among the first to weigh in on his passing.
Among other things, Spielberg remembered Fenton as a passionate advocate for the actors he cast.Working with Mike Fenton was like working in a candy store — he made casting a blast.
