Mikael Silvestre has revealed what it's like to be on the receiving end of Sir Alex Ferguson's hairdryer treatment. Ferguson brought Silvestre to Manchester in September 1999 and the defender enjoyed nine years playing at Old Trafford.

Silvestre made 249 Premier League appearances for United and he left the club in 2008 to join Arsenal - Manchester City were also interested - aged 31 after winning four league titles, one Champions League, one FA Cup and one League Cup with the Reds.

The Frenchman launched ‘Talent Lyfe’ this week, his own innovative agency to represent elite athletes and young talent, and he reflected on his playing days under Ferguson to the Manchester Evening News to explain what the 'hairdryer treatment' was like.
