MICHAEL J Fox has revealed he may quit acting in a "second retirement". The Back To The Future star, 59, is considering bowing out of the showbiz industry as he struggles to learn lines due to his Parkinson's diagnosis.

Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson's - a long-term degenerative disorder of the nervous system - at the age of 29 in 1991, but kept his condition secret for seven years.

He was told by doctors at the time that he only had ten years of working left before his condition would have deteriorated too much.

The Family Ties star reflected on the longevity of his career in his new book, No Time Like The Future: An Optimist Considers Mortality. "There are reasons for my lapses in memorization," Michael wrote, in an extract obtained.
