McDonald's warns drive-thrus could shut over safety fears

This week, McDonald's fans across the UK celebrated as the fast food chain began to reopen its drive-thrus. Hundreds of drive-thrus have already reopened, with several branches in Greater Manchester once again serving Big Macs and McNuggets to shoppers.

It comes as no surprise, then, to hear that people have been flocking to stores in their thousands - often causing huge queues.

Yesterday, the Bolton branch saw waits of up to an hour-and-a-half at the fast food giant's branch in Astley Bridge, Bolton.

Now McDonald's has responded to fears that the queues could become 'dangerous' and, in some cases, could be unsafe. Posting on Twitter, one concerned social media user said: "Just popped to Team Valley Retail Pk.
