Martin Keown has slammed the SPFL as a 'farce' and accused them of forcing clubs into ending the season by placing unfair financial worries on them.

The Arsenal legend - who has kept a close eye on Scottish football in recent years with son Niall playing for Partick Thistle and St Johnstone - reckons the governing body made a decision far too quickly.

It comes as Scottish Premiership clubs are set to hold an emergency summit with league chief Neil Doncaster later on Friday to end the campaign and declare Celtic as champions.

That will also see Hearts relegated to the Championship and the haste associated with events doesn't sit right with the outspoken pundit.
