evoke.ieThe final season of Homeland is making its way to our screens and with throwback scenes of a much younger Mandy Patinkin, it wasn’t always this way.
With scenes cutting to and from 1986 East Berlin, creators of the hit Showtime series almost used digital technology to de-age the 67 year old actor.
Directors and producers from the show found it difficult to cast a much younger version of the character, until Boy Meets World star Ben Savage came along.
With plans to cast Mandy in the role and edit his looks, executive producer Alex Gansa told TVLine that all their problems went away when it was pointed out how similar the two looked. ‘There was some talk of trying to make Mandy look like he was in his late 20s.
