direct to your inboxStudents at the University of Manchester are to hold a historic vote of 'no confidence' in the Vice-Chancellor Nancy Rothwell.Campaigners were granted the right to a referendum from 8-11 March following a series of controversies surrounding the university's handling of the pandemic this academic year.The vote, thought to be the first of its kind in the university's history, will ask students if they wish to declare they no longer have confidence in the Vice-Chancellor and her Senior Management Team.If the vote goes against Dame Rothwell, the result is non-binding but will have to be considered by the university's Board of Governors.In their manifesto, the students highlight a string of issues related to the coronavirus.
