Former West Ham United striker Carlton Cole has accused Manchester United of failing to look after Jesse Lingard's "welfare," amid the ongoing uncertainty about his short-term future.

But with United coming under more and more pressure to find a temporary home for Lingard ahead of the transfer window closing on Monday evening, former Hammers striker Cole has slammed the club for their treatment of the England international, who is set to leave the club permanently once his contract expires in June.
