United after arriving from Irish side Shelbourne for £5,000 and spending 13 years at Old Trafford between 1960-1973.The left-back started in the famous 4-1 victory over Benfica in the 1968 European Cup final at Wembley and was also an integral part of the team that won two league titles and an FA Cup under Sir Matt Busby.Dunne made 535 appearances - the eighth highest in the club's history - for United before moving on to Bolton Wanderers, where he is also highly thought of among supporters after helping them to win the second division title in 1978.

Wanderers confirmed the news on their website tonight.He would then end his career in the North American Soccer League at Detroit Express in 1979.
