The Catalan outfit are in a desperate bid to massively cut their wage bill in order to afford Lionel Messi's new contract. The deal has been agreed between all parties, but La Liga's Financial Fair Play rules dictate that they must make cuts before it can be ratified by the league.

This is not so much a firesale as a giveaway, however, as it is believed Barcelona are willing to let the two players go for nothing.
