The pub, the oldest surviving Tudor building in Manchester city centre, was unable to reopen on Thursday after a positive coronavirus case among staff - and remaining staff having to self-isolate.
The Old Wellington, which dates back to 1552, is one of Manchester's most recognisable buildings standing at Shambles Square in the city centre alongside Sinclair's Oyster Bar.
The two pubs, with a huge outdoor area, are a popular hotspot for revellers on sunny days close to the main shopping hub off Exchange Square.
