Maggie, a French bulldog, was stolen from her home in Bradninch, Devon, on May 13 - while she was heavily pregnant with puppies.
Gathering information from the public, officers from Greater Manchester Police worked with Devon and Cornwall Police to track down Maggie.
The 'diligently' collected intelligence led police from the Trafford West neighbourhood team to a house more than 220 miles away from Devon in Moss Lane in Partington, Trafford, where it was believed the dog was being kept.
