A father and son have denied murdering a man in an Iceland car park by running him over several times because of a £40,000 debt.

John Avers was seen in distressing CCTV footage showing the wheels of a car driven by Bobby Ternent, 32, crushing him multiple times, as his father Gary Ternent allegedly held him down.

47-year-old Avers, died at the scene in an Iceland car park and could be heard screaming in the clip, which was played to the courtroom this week.

Avers’ “catastrophic” injuries were revealed in a post-mortem examination where it was reported he had suffered multiple injuries from being crushed by the car, including fractures to the skull, sternum, pelvis, left thigh and 22 ribs.
